Day 01: Jan. 24, 2026:  Depart North America to fly to Brazil
Flight from North America for an overnight flight into Sao Paulo, Brazil. [IFM]
*Ask about adding more of South America visiting Peru, Chile or Argentina.

Day 02: Jan 25, 2026:  Arrive Sao Paulo, Brazil
Upon arrival clear local customs and take connecting flights into Foz do Iguacu. Upon arrival transfer to hotel for a three night stay. This evening enjoy a Dinner, Dance and Cultural Show. [IFM/D]

Day 03: Jan 26, 2026:  Iguazu Falls, Brazil
Take a helicopter ride over the falls (included) for a birds-eye view of this magnificent natural wonder.  Visit the Brazilian side of the falls followed by a boat ride under the falls. (Warning, you will get wet).  [B/L/D]

Day 04: Jan 27 , 2026:  Iguazu Falls, Brazil
Visit the “Pasco Das Aves” Bird Park, before traveling into the countryside to view the Itaipu Dam, the second largest hydro electric dam in the world. Return to hotel with the balance of the day at leisure.  [B/D]

Day 05: Jan 28, 2026:  Iguazu Falls - Curitiba - Ponta Grossa, Brazil
Morning departure from the hotel and transfer to the airport for a flight to Curitiba, Brazil.  After arriving into Curitaba, drive to the agricultural community of Ponta Grossa.  Transfer to hotel for an overnight stay, with a special “Home DInner” planned this evening. [B/D]

Day 06: Jan 29, 2026:  Ponta Grossa - Curitiba, Brazil
Following breakfast at hotel, visit one of the local dairy farms in the area.  This afternoon visit another large grain farm operation before traveling back to Curitiba, and checking into hotel for a 2-night stay. [B/L]

Day 07: Jan 30, 2026:  Curitiba, Brazil
Visit to Paranagua’s Port, the most important port in  Brazil, especially for the shipment of soy beans and poultry.  Visit the harbour via a boat cruise then return to Curitiba for the night.

Day 08: Jan 31, 2026:  Curitiba - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Flight from Curitiba to Rio de Janeiro. Transfer to a beachfront hotel for a 2-night stay. This evening, enjoy a “Brazilian Dinner”. [B/D]

Day 09: Feb 01, 2026:  Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
This morning visit Sugar Loaf Mountain, rising 396 m above the harbor.  Its name is said to come from its resemblance to the traditional shape of a concentrated refined loaf of sugar.  A glass-paneled cable car offers 360-degree views of the surrounding city.  This afternoon, enjoy a city tour of Rio will include the cathedral, Olympic sites and "Christ the Redeemer" statue, 98 feet tall at 2,300 feet above sea  level and watching over the city of Rio.  This is truly an amazing site. Dinner this evening at hotel.  This evening take a flight from Rio de Janeiro to Manaus, in the heart of the Amazon region.  Arrive Manaus, the capital and largest city of the Brazilian state of Amazonas. Manaus is located in the center of the Amazon rainforest, and home to the National Institute of Amazonian Research, being the most important center for scientific studies in the Amazon region and for international sustainability issues. Overnight in a hotel this evening. [B/D]

Day 10: Feb 02, 2026:  Manaus/Amazon River Region, Brazil
Board the “Amazon Explorer” your luxury Amazon Cruise, a five-star hotel with the excitement and adventure as you cruise the calm-waters of the world’s largest rainforest. Your all-inclusive experience starts the moment you step aboard this luxury cruise liner. Toast to your adventure as you set sail with a top-shelf beverage from the open bar. Then, enjoy the sunset from the top deck while listening to the nightly musical performance. At mealtimes, you may choose between two restaurants, which are both included in the all-inclusive package. [B/D]

Day 11: Feb 03, 2026:  Manaus/Amazon River Region, Brazil
If you are up early, there is a Sunrise Lovers' breakfast on the Upper Deck, where you can enjoy the early morning atmosphere. Otherwise, you can enjoy the buffet spread in the Kuarup Restaurant. After breakfast, we go and explore the Jaraqui region. Depending on the water level, we either stay on the expedition skiffs or take a guided hike along a jungle trail, where we can learn about the trees and plants that are of particular importance to locals for construction and the production of medicines. We have lunch back on board, followed by time for a welcome siesta! In the late afternoon, we board the skiffs again to explore the second largest fluvial archipelago in the world, Anavilhanas, a huge collection of river islands and beaches, which are in striking and photogenic contrast to the black waters of the River Negro. One of the largest islands in the Archipelago is Tres Bocas, and here one can see dense vegetation that includes bountiful orchids and bromeliads and is home to birds such as toucans and macaws. After dark, caimans are abundant and fun to spot from the skiffs. [B/L/D]

Day 12: Feb 04, 2026:  Manaus/Amazon River Region, Brazil
As the sun rises, the Grand Amazon arrives at the River Cuieiras, and we have the chance to enjoy the resplendent scenery as we take our breakfast. For our morning tour, we pay a visit by skiff and on foot to Cambebas, a fascinating indigenous village, where we learn how the locals have adapted their way of life to best suit their environment, visit their school, and have a chance to buy handicrafts. Visit to a local farm to learn about the way of life there. Once back on board, we have dinner and then can enjoy the facilities and entertainment of the Grand Amazon. Later, there is a night tour by motorboat to spot alligators and listen to the night sounds of the Ariaú region. [B/L/D]

Day 13: Feb 05, 2026:  Manaus/Amazon River Region, Brazil
There is the option of a pre-breakfast birding excursion by skiff for those that wish to enjoy the Amazon dawn and its abundant wildlife. Then, after breakfast, we head to the Praia Grande - which means, simply, 'Big Beach' in English - yes, that's right there are beaches on the Amazon! There is a chance to swim in the refreshing waters of the Rio Negro and even the incredible opportunity to interact with the rather peculiar-looking but remarkable pink Amazon river dolphins. Back on board, there is a lecture on Amazon Birds in the Lua Salon. After lunch, we step back in time as we visit the Rubber Tapping Museum and learn about the shocking history of the rubber trade which made the region the richest in the world at one point in time. This evening we have a special gala dinner with exotic Amazon dancing. [B/L/D]

Day 14: Feb 06, 2026:  Manaus/Amazon River Region, Brazil
A free day to relax. Please note that excursions this day are available at an additional cost (city tours and private excursions). Lunch and bar/pool services will remain available during the day. Rio Solimões navigation. Sunset on the terrace with background music. [B/L/D]

Day 15: Feb 07, 2026:  Manaus/Amazon River Region, Brazil
Wake up at Janauacá Lake. If you are up early, there is a Sunrise Lovers' breakfast on the Upper Deck, where you can enjoy the early morning atmosphere. Otherwise, you can enjoy the buffet spread in the Kuarup Restaurant. After breakfast, we make exploration by skiff and along marked trails of the rainforest, keeping our eyes open for jungle birds and Pink River Dolphins. There should be countless photo opportunities. We also stop at the home of a local Caboclo, to gain insight into human life in the Amazon, and perhaps purchase some of the traditional handicrafts. Later back on board there will be a lecture on Amazon Fruits in the Lua Salon. In the afternoon, we continue to the Manaquiri Region, for an excursion by skiff through the closed-in streams. It is a great opportunity for spotting some of the flora and fauna of the Amazon and a chance to try your skills fishing for piranha! We are welcomed back on board with live music on the upper deck. And then, after dinner, we can go on a night tour potting caiman along the river banks, using spotlights and listen to the night sounds of the jungle. [B/L/D]

Day 16: Feb 08, 2026:  Manaus/Amazon River Region, Brazil
This morning the Grand Amazon enters the Manacapuru River and, for the early risers, there is a chance to go birding in the skiffs, as the sun rises over the beautiful jungle. After breakfast, we board the expedition skiffs for a photo safari through the narrow waterways of the region, where the vegetation overhangs the water, or alternatively head out on a jungle walk adventure. Upon returning to the boat we can enjoy a lecture on Amazon People and Culture. After lunch and a rest, we head to Lake Janauari, where we have the chance to visit a regional houseboat, get to know the local crafts, and take a short walking tour of the region. We wait until dusk before returning to the cruise boat as it is a great time to spot numerous species - especially birds - in large quantities. This evening there is a special dinner, in the Kuarup Restaurant, with live music as entertainment. [B/L/D]

Day 17: Feb 09, 2026:  Manaus/Amazon River Region, Brazil
This morning arrive back at the at the port of Manaus, where we say our fond goodbyes and disembark to the staff and crew aboard the river cruise. Transfer to the airport for our afternoon/evening flights back back to North America. [B/IFM]

Day 18: Feb 10, 2026:  End of Tour
Arrive North America. [IFM]
