Join Select Holidays on our hosted agriculture tour of Chile, Argentina & Brazil.  Enjoy your experience of the wineries in the area around Santiago and see how the grapes are cultivated, picked, and the wine is produced, which is one of Chile’s biggest agriculture exports.  As you cross over to Argentina you will enjoy the Spectacular Lake Cruise between Bariloche, Argentina and Puerto Montt, Chile.  You will visit the largest inland grain handling system, where farmers have their grain hauled to for export.  The pampas of Argentina produce vast amounts of soy beans, corn, and sunflower as well as lush pasture for the cattle farms in the area.  The amazing Iguazu Falls in Brazil will leave you breathless and the wonderful city of Rio de Janeiro. Visit the amazing farming region in Moto Grosso State, known for its beef cattle, soy bean, maize, plus the large cooperative farms. Day 1: Jan. 11, 2025:  Depart North America to fly to Santiago, Chile
Flight from North America for an overnight flight into Santiago, Chile. [IFM/D]

Day 2: Jan 12, 2025:  Arrive Santiago, Chile
Upon arrival clear local customs and transfer to hotel for a three night stay. Relaxing time after an overnight flight. [IFM/D]

Day 3: Jan 13, 2025:  Santiago, Chile
A city and area tour of Santiago. Santiago , also known as Santiago de Chile, is the capital and largest city of Chile and one of the largest cities in the Americas. It is located in the country's central valley and is the center of the Santiago Metropolitan Region, which has a population of 7 million, representing 40% of Chile's total population. This evening enjoy a Chilean Culture Dinner and Show. [B/D]

Day 4: Jan 14, 2025:  Santiago, Chile
Visit the country's largest fruit and vegetable wholesale markets this morning followed by a visit to the fish market.  The afternoon is at leisure at the hotel.  [B/D]

Day 5: Jan 15, 2025:  Santiago - Valparaiso, Chile
Enjoy a winery tour, tasting and lunch en route to the Pacific coastal city of Valparaiso/Vina Del Mar. Tour of Valparaiso/Vina Del Mar including funicular, before checking into our hotel for a two night stay. [B/L]

Day 6: Jan 16, 2025:  Valparaiso - Puerto Montt, Chile
Free time before traveling back to Santiago International Airport and a flight to Puerto Montt, a port city and commune in southern Chile, located at the northern end of the Reloncaví Sound. Check in for a 3-night stay. [B/D]

Day 7: Jan 17, 2025:  Puerto Montt, Chile
Travel north to the region, known as the pastoral area of the country and visit with a local farmer. Arrive at the farm in time to see your lunch being placed on the spit for your BBQ.  You will be greeted with a tasty Pisco Sour (or maybe 2).  As your lunch is cooking, tour around this small dairy farm.  After touring, enjoy homemade and freshly baked empanadas and BBQ.  Return to hotel.    [B/L]

Day 8: Jan 18, 2025:  Puerto Montt, Chile
A morning visit to the seaport in Puerto Varas. Drive into the countryside to be entertained at a Chilean horse show and rodeo before returning to the hotel for the night. [B/D]

Day 9: Jan 19, 2025:  Puerto Montt, Chile - Bariloche, Argentina
A FULL DAY EXCURSION!
The inspiring beauty of the southern Andes unfolds today as you travel from Chile to Argentina via roads and a series of lake cruise crossings.  Arrive into Bariloche, Argentina for a 2-night stay. Bariloche, is in the heart of the Patagonia region that consists of over 100,000 hectares of land dedicated to cattle, sheep and forestry. [B/L/D]

Day 10: Jan 20, 2025:  Bariloche, Argentina
A visit to one of the local ranches with large herds of sheep and cattle, where there are valleys with water springs or creeks which allow for natural grasslands and pastures. Ranches in the area are large in size due to their low carrying capacity.  Return to Bariloche this afternoon.    [B/L/D]

Day 11: Jan 21, 2025:  Bariloche - Buenos Aires, Argentina
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Buenos Aires, Argentina and a 2-night stay.  This  evening you are entertained at a Tango Show and Dinner. NOTE:  This will be a late evening. [B/D]

Day 12: Jan 22, 2025:  Buenos Aires, Argentina
This morning enjoy a city tour including the colorful Boca area of the city.  Following lunch, return to hotel for a leisurely afternoon. [B/L]

Day 13: Jan 23, 2025:  Buenos Aires - Rosario, Argentina
Your drive today takes you to Rosario.  As you drive through the country side, a stop will be made at an Angus Cattle farm.  Upon arrival into Rosario, check into hotel for a 2-night stay. Rosario is a large grain port city on the Parana River [B/L/D]

Day 14: Jan 24, 2025:  Rosario,  Argentina
Following breakfast at hotel visit two local farms in the region with lunch at a local restaurant.  Return to hotel for the night.   [B/L/D]

Day 15: Jan 25, 2025:  Rosario - Iguazu Falls, Argentina
A flight from Rosario take us into one of the world’s most beautiful waterfalls. Iguazu Falls are waterfalls of the Iguazu River on the border of the Argentine province of Misiones and the Brazilian state of Paraná. Together, they make up the largest waterfall system in the world. Overnight on the Argentinian side of the falls. [B/D]

Day 16: Jan 26, 2025:  Iguazu Falls, Brazil
Visit the Argentinean side of the falls before a border transfer into Brazil for a three night stay. This evening enjoy a Dinner, Dance and Cultural Show. [B/D]

Day 17: Jan 27, 2025:  Iguazu Falls, Brazil
Take a helicopter ride over the falls (included) for a birds-eye view of this magnificent natural wonder.  Visit the Brazilian side of the falls followed by a boat ride under the falls. (Warning, you will get wet).  [B/L/D]

Day 18: Jan 28 , 2025:  Iguazu Falls, Brazil
Visit the “Pasco Das Aves” Bird Park, before traveling into the countryside to view the Itaipu Dam, the second largest hydro electric dam in the world. Return to hotel with the balance of the day at leisure.  [B/D]

Day 19: Jan 29, 2025:  Iguazu Falls - Curitiba - Ponta Grossa, Brazil
Morning departure from the hotel and transfer to the airport for a flight to Curitiba, Brazil.  After arriving into Curitaba, drive to the agricultural community of Ponta Grossa.  Transfer to hotel for an overnight stay, with a special “Home DInner” planned this evening. [B/D]

Day 20: Jan 30, 2025:  Ponta Grossa - Curitiba, Brazil
Following breakfast at hotel, visit one of the local dairy farms in the area.  This afternoon visit another large grain farm operation before traveling back to Curitiba, and checking into hotel for a 2-night stay. [B/L]

Day 21: Jan 31, 2025:  Curitiba, Brazil
Visit to Paranagua’s Port, the most important port in  Brazil, especially for the shipment of soy beans and poultry.  Visit the harbour via a boat cruise then return to Curitiba for the night.

Day 22: Feb 01, 2025:  Curitiba - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Flight from Curitiba to Rio de Janeiro. Transfer to a beachfront hotel for a 2-night stay. This evening, enjoy a “Brazilian Dinner”. [B/D]

Day 23: Feb 02, 2025:  Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
This morning visit Sugar Loaf Mountain, rising 396 m above the harbor.  Its name is said to come from its resemblance to the traditional shape of a concentrated refined loaf of sugar.  A glass-paneled cable car offers 360-degree views of the surrounding city.  This afternoon, enjoy a city tour of Rio will include the cathedral, Olympic sites and "Christ the Redeemer" statue, 98 feet tall at 2,300 feet above sea  level and watching over the city of Rio.  This is truly an amazing site. Dinner this evening at hotel.  [B/D]

Day 24: Feb 03, 2025:  Rio de Janeiro - Mota Grosso State, Brazil
Morning departure from Rio takes up into the Moto Grosso region of Brazil. Sinop is a city in the Brazilian state of Moto Grosso. In the early 1970s, a company, Sinop Terras, started the construction of a city in northern Mato Grosso, on a land tract called Gleba Celeste, divided into 5 lots. Stay in this region for three nights. [B/D]

Day 25: Feb 04, 2025:  Mota Grosso State, Brazil
The principal economic of this region is the provision of services, with great emphasis also to the livestock industry (cattle and pigs), cotton and grains (soybeans, corn and rice) cultivation and timber industry. Day 26: Feb 05, 2025:  Mota Grosso State, Brazil

Day 27: Feb 06, 2025:  Mota Grosso State - Manaus/Amazon River Region, Brazil
Today is a travel day as we depart Sinop early this morning with a stop in Brasilia. Continue into Manaus, the capital and largest city of the Brazilian state of Amazonas. Manaus is located in the center of the Amazon rainforest, and home to the National Institute of Amazonian Research, being the most important center for scientific studies in the Amazon region and for international sustainability issues. Overnight in a hotel this evening. [B/D]

Day 28: Feb 07, 2025:  Manaus/Amazon River Region, Brazil
Board your luxury Amazon Cruise, a five-star hotel with the excitement and adventure as you cruise the calm-waters of the world’s largest rainforest. Your all-inclusive experience starts the moment you step aboard this luxury cruise liner. Toast to your adventure as you set sail with a top-shelf beverage from the open bar. Then, enjoy the sunset from the top deck while listening to the nightly musical performance. At mealtimes, you may choose between two restaurants, which are both included in the all-inclusive package. [B/L/D]

Day 29: Feb 08, 2025:  Manaus/Amazon River Region, Brazil
Wake up at Janauacá Lake. If you are up early, there is a Sunrise Lovers' continental breakfast on the Upper Deck, where you can enjoy the early morning atmosphere. After breakfast, we make exploration by skiff and along marked trails of the rainforest, keeping our eyes open for jungle birds and Pink River Dolphins. There should be countless photo opportunities. We also stop at the home of a local Caboclo, to gain insight into human life in the Amazon, and perhaps purchase some of the traditional handicrafts. Later back on board there will be a lecture on Amazon Fruits in the Lua Salon. In the afternoon, we continue to the Manaquiri Region, for an excursion by skiff through the closed-in streams. It is a great opportunity for spotting some of the flora and fauna of the Amazon and a chance to try your skills fishing for piranha! You are welcomed back on board with live music on the upper deck. And then, after dinner, we can go on a night tour potting caiman along the river banks, using spotlights and listen to the night sounds of the jungle. [B/L/D]

Day 30: Feb 09, 2025:  Manaus/Amazon River Region, Brazil
This morning the Grand Amazon enters the Manacapuru River and, for the early risers, there is a chance to go birding in the skiffs, as the sun rises over the beautiful jungle. After breakfast, we board the expedition skiffs for a photo safari through the narrow waterways of the region, where the vegetation overhangs the water, or head out on a jungle walk adventure. Upon returning to the boat we can enjoy a lecture on Amazon People and Culture. After lunch and a rest, you head to Lake Janauari, where we have the chance to visit a regional houseboat, get to know the local crafts, and take a short walking tour of the region. We wait until dusk before returning to the cruise boat as it is a great time to spot numerous species - especially birds - in large quantities. This evening there is a dinner and a Folklore Show in the Lua Salon as we celebrate the sights we have seen and friends we have made over the last few days. [B/L/D]

Day 31: Feb 10, 2025:  Manaus/Amazon River Region, Brazil
Wake up early to see the fascinating phenomenon known as the Meeting of the Waters at sunrise. This is the point where the black water of the Rio Negro and brown water of the Solimoes meet - but don't mix. Continue to the port of Manaus, for disembarkation and transfer to a local hotel, with the balance of the day free. [B/D]

Day 32: Feb 11, 2025:  End of Tour
All good things must come to an end. Early morning transfer to the airport for your flights back to North America.  [B/IFM]

  • Brazil: Tourist Visa is currently not required for Canadian travelers.

  • Argentina: Persons holding a Canadian Passport do not require a “Reciprocity Fee”.

  • Chile: All tourists are issued a tourist card—valid for a maximum period of up to 90 days—upon arrival.
    You must retain this document and present it to immigration officers prior to departure from the country

  • It is each travelers own personal responsibility to ensure they have the correct paperwork and documents for each country and/or airlines.
