Day 01: October 22, 2024: Depart North America (IFM)
Depart North America for a flight into Venice, Italy.
Day 02: October 23, 2024: Venice, Italy (IFM/D)
Welcome to Venice! After arriving at the airport you will take a water taxi transfer to the historic centre and check in to your hotel. Rooms may not be ready until this afternoon. No worries, your luggage can be stored so you can go off exploring. Come back and check in later. Tonight, join your group for an included welcome dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 03: October 24, 2024: Venice, Italy (B/L)
Good Morning! Take time to enjoy a leisurely included breakfast. This morning you will have 2-hour walking tour of Venice including Piazza San Marco and Ponte dei Sospiri - Bridge of Sighs. After the tour you will have free time to explore more of Venice. Dinner is on your own tonight.
Optional Tour – This afternoon you may take an optional tour of two of the Islands of Venice, Murano and Burano with boat transfer included. Also included is a visit to a glass blowing factory with demonstration. Additional cost - $125 CAD
Day 04: October 25, 2024: Montecatini, Italy (B/D)
This morning you check out and travel to Montecatini. You will make a stop in Bologna to explore on your own and have lunch (not included). This afternoon you arrive in Montecatini centre and check in to your hotel. After checking in, you have free time to explore. You will have an included dinner at the hotel tonight. This hotel will be your home for the next 4 nights.
Day 05: October 26, 2024: Pisa & Lucca / Montecatini, Italy (B/D)
This morning you meet with a Local Guide to the town of Pisa. In the coastal town of Pisa, you will see the famous Leaning Tower, the finely sculpted marble Cathedral, and the ornate Baptistery. You then travel to the scenic Tuscan town of Lucca for free time to explore. Join your fellow travellers tonight for a wine tasting experience and dinner at Frattoria Il Poggio. Return to the hotel with a full tummy.
Day 06: October 27, 2024: Florence / Montecatini, Italy (B)
This morning you depart for Florence where a Local Guide will provide a 2-hour walking tour of the city centre and Ponte Vecchio Bridge. You will have free time to explore on your own and have lunch. Later this afternoon you will depart for Montecatini. Dinner is on your own this evening.
Day 07: October 28, 2024: San Gimignano / Montecatini, Italy (B/D)
Head on down for another delicious breakfast and get ready for a beautiful day of adventure. This morning you have free time to explore San Gimignano which is known as the ‘medieval Manhattan’ and is famed for its ring of towers which can be seen several kilometres from town. Shop for locally produced delicacies and hand-painted Tuscan pottery. This afternoon you visit a local winery for a pasta cooking lesson including wine tasting and dinner. Return to Montecatini after dinner.
Day 08: October 29, 2024: Montecatini / Rome, Italy (B/D)
This morning you will depart for Rome and St. Peters Square for free time for lunch before you meet your Local Guide for a tour of St. Peter’s Basilica. Among the world-famous artworks are Michelangelo’s Pietà and Last Judgement. After the tour, you check in to your hotel. You will have an included dinner at the hotel tonight.
Day 09: October 30, 2024: Rome, Italy (B/D)
Meet your Local Guide for a panoramic tour of Ancient Rome. You will have a short walking tour of the outside of the famed Colosseum as well as the Forum. This afternoon you will be dropped off at the Piazza Navona for free time for lunch and explore on your own. The Pantheon and Trevi Fountain are easily assessable on foot from here. Your Tour Director is available to assist you. Tonight, enjoy an included dinner at a local restaurant near the hotel.
Day 10: October 31, 2024: End of Tour [B/IFM]
Transfer to airport for flight back to North America.
